Valdeorras, land of great wines

The Last 18th of June at the IES Fuente Fresnedo in Laredo, headquarters of the Unami Tasters Association, held a tasting of wines Valdeorras, directed and coordinated by Jorge Mazaira, technical director of the Regulatory Council of the Guarantee of Origin of Valdeorras.

They tasted five white wines from the variety Godello and three of the variety Mencia. Previously, Jorge Mazaira made a presentation about the region, which highlighted the land, the grape varieties that are developed, the climate that favors the growth of the vines and the work of men and women who form the Council.

Photography and digital image contest



PHOTOGRAPHY AND DIGITAL IMAGE CONTEST: THE WORLD OF WINE IN VALDEORRAS

RULES:

1. PARTICIPANTS
Any person of any nationality, who is over 18.

2. THEMATIC
The subject matter of the photography is free, but must be related with The World of wine in the
Valdeorras territory.

3. REQUIREMENTS
The participants may present a minimum of 1 photography and a maximun of 20.
The photos will be identified, that is to say, indicate what and/or who's in them.
The presentated pictures, of any date, couldn't be earlier awarded.
The technique and style will be free, and they can be done in color or black and white.

4. HOW TO PRESENTATE AND SEND
The photos can be send by e-mail to lamadredelvino@dovaldeorras.tv.
Each photo or group of photos may send with the following data:
-Title of the work.
-Name and surname,adress, telephone number and e-mail.
-Photo location and realization date.

5. AWARDS
It will be 3 awards of similar category:
- A weekend for two people in the Hotel Palladium (Barco de Valdeorras).
- Dinner for six people in the Casa Galaica restaurant (Barco de Valdeorras).
- Dinner for six people in the Fernando III restaurant (Barco de Valdeorras).

6. DEADLINE
The works may be send before 22nd of September of 2010 to 18.00h.

7. JURY AND AWARDS
The jury, chosen by the organization will take a decision that will be comunicate to the winners and publish in the Blog A Universe in Each Bottle.

8. COPYRIGHT AND USES OF THE IMAGES
The photos of the winners will be displayed in the Regulatory Council of the G.O. Valdeorras
indefinitely.
The copyriht of the winning pictures will be of the authors, but they will transfer them (acepting the rules) to the Regulatory Council of G.O. Valdeorras for their graphic and/or diffusion nonprofit by any audiovisual way of promotion. In any case, the G.O. always will cite the author's name.
The participant may be the only owner of the photo copyright and ensure that anyone claim any
rights of the photos.
The winners will send the photos in higher quality format in a CD/DVD to the adress that will be
issued. The author is the only one responsible for the photography. Neather the
organization or the Rgulatory Council accept no legal responsibility for the photography.
The participants photos will be publish in the Blog A universe in each bottle.

9. OTHERS
The participation in this contest implies full acceptance of their bases by the contestant.
The organizers reserve the right to decide on any bearing on the interpretation of them.

Valdeorras breeding Mencia noble wine in barrel racing with riojas

The Regulatory Council of Guarantee of Origin Valdeorras presented in Compostela the 2009 harvest.
