Synergy as a marriage between Valdeorras wine and Lulavai music

The story of Lulavai started at the "Arts and Crafts School" in Vigo, the place where these four women met. (Paula Oanes, Josefa Fernández, Lorena Reinaldo e Elena Paz) They study celtic harp with the teacher Rodrigo Romaní, and become members of the folk orchestra Sondeseu, playing their music on many different stages in Spain and other European contries. At the end of 2007, they decided to create Lulavai, a new project where the band mixes the sound of celtic harps and human voices, performing with their own sound traditional tunes as well as new compositions. On March 2008, Lulavai was selected as one of the finalist groups of the "Festival Cancioneiros" contest, suported and created by the "Barrie de la Maza foundation. After that they started to play around Galicia and Europe. On April 2010 they public their first CD, "CorDasVerbas".

The commitment of these four artists with the products of Galicia is evidentcon with the collaboration with their song Amalgama  for the development of  DO Valdeorras Web Portal videos. From the mother of wine want to show our thanks, sharing your music with you, our family, at this time so special.

The growing demand Godello Valdeorras, makes it out the bottling of the new harvest more than a month

The depletion of stocks of the 2009 harvest, it makes more holds the Regulatory Council requesting permission to begin the process of pouring the new crop.

The increasing demand for wine Godello, has led to several wineries requested permission from the Regulatory Council to start bottling wine from the new harvest, and thus to meet the growing demand for these wines.

Although the situation is the same for all warehouses, it becomes clear that the Valdeorras Godello is a significant demand situation. Much blame for the foreign market value and demand ever greater extent these wines.

The chairman of the Regulatory Council, José Luís García Pando said that those wineries that do not focus their markets and are committed to export have many more defenses before the crisis which is a feature of the internal market. Thus supporting the initiative that many winemakers have taken the commitment to internationalization of its wines.

The great-value prices treasured DO Valdeorras wines help overcome the crisis in 2010

The number of bottles sold in 2010 is close to 2009 in the Ourense´s Designation of Origin .

The great value price of the wines that D.O. valdeorresa conducive to the units sold in 2010 will equate to those of the previous season with numbers of around three million bottles, temporarily alleviating the crisis.

Prices ranging between six and eight euros per bottle in direct sales, and increase to between eleven and eighteen euros in restaurants, make that Valdeorras wines a successful bet by the consumer. Thus the number of units sold has declined over the previous year, unlike other designations that highlight their products at higher prices. This fact, factors such as specialization are helping consumers in this sector, positioning and promotional policies carried out since the Regulatory Council and the wineries and the boom and recognition that these wines are reaching an international level.

In any case, and from the Regulatory Council, we announced that the situation can be reversed if we maintain the current economic trend, as the budget deficit in the home can affect the purchase of a product that is not considered first need.

The export of wines from Galicia is growing five times more than the rest of Spain, in 2010

United States, UK and Switzerland are among countries that open their palates to Galician wine.

While world wine experts such as American Richard Halstead, Wine Intelligence Chief Executive, qualifies as excellent wines from Galicia including them in the luxury wine category, the Galician winery began its commitment to the international promotion and positioning abroad.

Although the crisis is no stranger to the world of wine. Galician wine industry is fighting fiercely against it based on the production, development and promotion of high quality wines that fail to satisfy the most demanding palates. Not only in Spain, as shown by recent wine awards collected by the different DO Galicia, but internationally as is evident in export growth last year, managing to export five times more than the sum total of the sector nationally.

This adaptation is based on innovation that is taking place in the production of wines from different appellations of origin from which, together with a change in trends, with sights set on the foreign market, make the wine industry in the region a prolific commitment to the future.
