The Wines of D.O. Valdeorras welcome authorities and importers in "Vinis Terrae"

The wines of the D.O. Valdeorras inaugurate the first day of the IV Galician quality wine and spirits fair with a affable pledge to importers and authorities.

While We are looking forward to reviews of importers on the excellence of valdeorresa wines, wineries and Regulatory Council welcomed the authorities and distributors attending the IV Galician quality wine and spirits fair "Vinis Terrae", which this year has the presence of fifteen countries.

In this climate of twinning and healthy competition between wineries of the different denominations of origin from Galicia, the act is spiced with various educational activities. Among the most prominent is the course of create Wine books for restaurants, which will impart for the president of the Association of Sommeliers de Galicia "Gallaecia", Mercedes González. Importers from 15 countries attend the call of quality of wines and spirits of Galicia in Vinis Terrae

Importers from 14 countries join the Belgian delegation, announced yesterday, to test "in situ" the excellence of wines from Galicia, in the fourth edition of Vinis Terrae.

The Rising demand, based on the proven quality of the wines of Galicia, attracting an increasing share of foreign importers in the Halls of Promotional wine of galicia . Thus, participation is confirmed, between tomorrow and the day after in the Expourense Fairgrounds, to importers from 15 countries in the IV Galician quality Wines and Spirits fair, "Vinis Terrae".

A great delegation of Belgian importers, announced yesterday, we must add a large influx of importers of countries as the U.S., which will be visit for a importers of a dozen states, Mexico and Poland. They will be joined importers to Germany, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland and a broad representation of Spanish distributors.

Wineries of the 5 guarantee of origing of Galician, among which have an important role of wine cellars of Valdeorras, they split the space of 5000 square meters of Fairgrounds Expourense, to treatment the interest generated day after day for Galician wines, both inside and outside our borders.

Belgian importers are set on wine of the appellations of origin of Ourense

Belgian importers will visit Ourense to see first hand the wines of their four denominations of origin.

In a country where the growth in wine consumption keeps them as the eighth global consumers, they don´t lost the quality of the wines from the appellations of origin of Ourense, and through an agreement with the Chamber of Commerce of Ourense, is has agreed to the visit of importers of large stock wine, in the coming days ,to the 4th Hall of "Vinis Terrae." 

Through an initial tasting included of the acts  in the 4th hall Galician quality wine and spirits fair "Vinis Terrae",  will show visitors the specific characteristics of the 40 winecellars attached to the designation of origin, in order to bring positions between winemakers and distributors, that will be realized more concretely with subsequent visits to wineries. 

It is significant that the appellations of origin Ourense fits the tastes of a population that is characterized by the preference of stills wines, as nearly 40% of total consumption are the Spanish wines, including the reds wines occupied a prominent place with figure approach nearly to 60% of total consumption.

Winery A Coroa launches first labeled of Godello controlled production

In the pursuit of excellence of the Godello of  Valdeorras, the award-winning winery A Coroa launched the first godello controlled production.

Under the specific rules laid down by the DO Regulatory Council Valdeorras in its order of November 24, 2009, for preferred red grapes and white of godello. This award-winning winery valdeorresa in their quest for excellence Godello, has decided to make this statement that implies a minimum area of 0.5 hectares (one or more parcels that do not exceed a radius of 1.5 km.) The maximum allowable production will be 6,000 KG red grapes per hectare and up to 8,000 for whites. A Certification Authority Control of the Regulatory Council will ensure that this is fulfilled, ie the figure of the supplier will carry out a comprehensive process control.

Technical director of the C.R.D.O. Valdeorras presents the wines of the Appellation of Origin in Gourmet 2011

 Jorge Mazaira, technical director of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Valdeorras presents the wines of the appellation of origin in a talk at the XXV International Show of Gourmets in Madrid,  at one of the events that make up the "Salon of the Senses ", an initiative of the Department of Rural and Marine Environment of the Xunta de Galicia.

Valdeorras will present its wines today at the XXV edition of the Hall of Gourmets at Madrid

Valdeorras wines joins the rest of Galicia quality designations in the Stand of Cosellería  for Rural Affairs of the Xunta de Galicia, to make a gastronomic excitement of Galician products in the Hall of Gourmets in Madrid.

A Ministry for Rural Affairs will be present, once again, at the XXV International hall of Gourmet Club of Madrid and will have a space of 216 square meters, in which distributed a total of 17 companies in the food sector in addition to 22 Regulators Council. At the same time they prepared a series of activities for presentation and taste the products of the companies co-exhibitors and quality designations of Galicia, combining the products of the land with the sea, whit helps for the Ministry of the Sea

On the first day of the fair, the department head Samuel Juárez submit to the audience, under the title "A delight for the senses", a Galician sausage tasting with wines from the DO Valdeorras, seafood (mexilóns of Galicia, canned fish products), with wines of the Rías Baixas and Monterrei and Galician Veal  with DO Ribeiro wine.

During these days, there will be presentations and tastings of differentiation and classification  cheese of Galicia  PDO Arzúa-Ulloa, Cheese Nipple, San Simón da Costa and Cebreiro, and various productions of qualifying for IXP Miel de Galicia, the I.X.P. Chestnut Galicia, as well as ecological products delicatessens to dealers , restaurants and hotels.

With over 1,300 exhibitors and 40,000 products, Gourmet Fair is a meeting point for business in which companies have access to interviews with foreign buyers, purchasing managers of stores and surfaces, hospitality chains and distributors from five continents . An event that awakens us media interest, national and international, with more than 1,150 accredited journalists and 80,000 trade visitors.

The D.O. Valdeorras will present their wines at the XXV International Show of Gourmets

The next 11, 12, 13 and 14 April will hold, in IFEMA Madrid exhibition, the XXV International Show of Gourmets, who could not miss for the wines of the D.O. Valdeorras.

International Show of Gourmets, Madrid, is the meeting point of manufacturers of delicatessen products, and also a quality reference for the worldwide gastronomy. In the trade show one can assist to product presentations, competitions, debates and shows among other activities.Since 1999, the trade show includes the Senses Hall with the aim of bringing the non professional public closer to the products exhibited in the International Show of Gourmets.

Valdeorras wines come to the call of Hall of wine and olive in Extremadura

The cooperative Virgen das Viñas of A Rúa in Valdeorras will have a booth in the hall of wine and olive of Almendralejo held from 6 to 9 April.

The visit will be possible after the invitation to the people of Extremadura, twinned with the Valdeorras, launched to A Rúa´s Council in connection with the participation of Extremadura in the celebration of the XIII edition of the Valdeorras Wine Fair.

The Hall of wine and olive distinguished, unlike the fair of Valdeorras, between the professional assistance and the general public. Thus, the first two days are reserved for professionals, while the last two days the entrance is permitted to the general public for the symbolic price of 3 euros.

In addition, A Rúa will star in the closing ceremony with a wine tasting of  Valdeorras accompanied by the octopus tasting.

Winery Valdesil, center for the wine in Valdeorras this weekend

The winery Valdesil hosts become more than fifty national wine distributors.
During this weekend about 50 dealers nationwide will meet for the first time in a day's work in Valdeorras specifically in the wine cellar Valdesil, so Valdeorras become, these days, the heart of wine distribution.

The event began yesterday in the night with a vertical tasting of Pezas da Portela led by the winemaker, Cristina Mantilla. However, the highlight will take place today, when of Valdesil´s viticulture consultant and professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, José Ramón Lissarrague, will lecture on the variety star in the area, the Godello, and its viticulture.
