New recognition for Godello A Coroa 2011 that, in just one week, has become one of the most fashionable wines in North America through the recognitions recieved from The New York Times, The Best Spanish Wines for USA and, just yesterday, from the Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada, the largest international wine competition of this continent.

New recognition of the professional industry of North America to the Valdeorras wines, that has found in the Godello A Coroa one of its greatest ambassadors in North America.

A Coroa Godello 2011, which has been described by The New York Times as the best wine of its variety  sold in the EE UU,  has ratified this distinction a few days later by becoming the winner of the Silver Medal in the competition The Best Spanish Wines for USA and confirming all expectations about its excellence. Furthermore, just yesterday was also honored with the Gold Medal in Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada.

Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada is the most important wine competition in North America. It is held. It is held in Canada in Quebec city. This competition of prestige created into 1983 is held under the high patronage of the International organization of vine and wine (OIV), the International union of oenologists (UIOE) and of the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits competitions (VINOFED).

In 1994, Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada was one of the founding members of the World Federation of Major International Wine competitions (VinoFed) comprised of the most important wine competitions in the world, for example: Vinalies internationales in Paris, Vinandino in Argentina, Vino Ljubljana in Slovenia, Bacchus in Spain, Mondial du Pinot Noir in Switzerland, Mundusvini in Germany, VinAgora in Hungray and Premios Zarcillo in Spain.

The samples submitted were evaluated by an international jury of 79 experts from over 27 countries across 5 continents, whose members are recognized for their competence, integrity and independence.

With this new award, 'the promise of the spanish wine', a name with which the variety Godello was qualified by The New York Times, has almost become a reality, giving a well deserved award to the wineries that belong to DO Valdeorras, in general, and to the winery A Coroa, in particular.
